dark green leaves emerge with a wonderful mottled rose-purple pattern in spring

but we anticipate the giant size should result in equally large offspring

we listed this as a form of Aspidistra lurida and later Aspidistra sichuanensis

the frilly fern-like foliage springs from the ground

Farfugium japonicum Kinbotan Aruncus or is it sake(aka: Ligularia tussilaginea) 2022 marks our first offering of the rarely offered Japanese Farfugium japonicum 'Kinbotan'. This speckled leaf leopard plant forms a 20" tall x 2' wide clump that's similar to Farfugium 'Kagami Jishi', but with smaller yellow spotted leaves, which also have more sharply angular leaf ruffling. The evergreen clumps are topped with stalks of yellow daisies starting for us in late October.
